Biography
Originally I was a public school teacher of special education, but after my marriage we made a move to Southern California and I started to take art classes. I was attracted to the ceramics lab at Cal State San Bernardino and eventually I set up a pottery studio in my home and built a kiln in my backyard, creating and exhibiting at crafts fairs while I raised two children. Moving to Northern California, the kids grew up and I went back into the classroom as the art teacher at Joaquin Moraga Intermediate School in Moraga with an art room, a ceramics lab, and, eventually, the school yearbook under my wing. When I retired from teaching, rather than equip a home ceramics studio, I started painting with acrylics and making collages. I have been fortunate that my retirement years, up until the pandemic, included many trips with my husband to exciting places in the world, always with my iPhone in my pocket. My Instagram site is filled with images of those trips.
